The Highland Green Foundation (HGF), a friends’ group supporting secular education, arts and preservation programs at First Presbyterian recently received the green light from the National Park Service to proceed with nominating the Fish Church as a National Historic Landmark (NHL), the highest level of federal recognition for historic properties. HGF invites you to explore and celebrate Stamford’s first NHL candidate during an open house of the sanctuary and carillon and talks on their design and construction on the national day set aside by DOCOMOMO, the international organization promoting the documentation and conservation of buildings, sites and neighborhoods of the modern movement. Admission is open to the public and free.
